Yes, we offer various modes of counselling such as video chat sessions, phone call sessions and in-person sessions.

We currently offer two locations for Counselling. Both locations are located in Surrey, British Columbia. One location is in the Whalley area and the second location is in the Newton area. The exact address will be disclosed by your Counsellor.

Counselling sessions are typically between 50-60 minutes long.

To cancel an appointment without a charge, please directly contact your Counsellor at least 24 hours before your booked appointment. Appointments that are cancelled less than 24 hours from the appointment time are at risk of being charged and considered a late cancellation. If you do not contact your Counsellor and do not show up to your session, the appointment will be charged as a ‘No Show’.

All information is kept confidential, but there are certain exceptions to confidentiality in Counselling that will be shared by your Counsellor in the initial appointment. Your Counsellor will go over confidentiality guidelines with you prior to starting your first session and will only move forward once you have provided your written consent.

Counselling can help you understand your feelings, learn tools to cope with your mental health experiences, effectively heal from traumatic experiences and find solutions to your problems. You can expect a safe, supportive environment where you can feel heard and respected.

During the first counselling session, the primary focus is on building a rapport with the Counsellor by discussing your background, current concerns, and establishing goals for therapy through open and honest communication; this often involves the Counsellor asking many questions about your life, relationships, and coping mechanisms to understand your situation and assess your needs.

You are highly encouraged to request a different Counsellor if you feel that you are not connecting well with your current Counsellor. To make this request you are welcome to directly inform your Counsellor or contact the Intake Worker by calling 604-589-1868 ext. 230 or email [email protected].
